Bovina hotel owner kidnapped in Ilorin

Police-logo1Fear gripped residents and traders in Ibrahim Taiwo road, Ilorin, Kwara State, Monday evening when armed men abducted a business mogul and owner of Bovina Hotel, Chief Ifeanyi Okoye.

The businessman was kidnapped from his shop, Bosco Nigeria Ltd. located in the commercial centre of the metropolis.

The incident, which occurred at about 4:30pm, was said to have caused commotion as residents, traders, motorists and passers-by scampered for safety.

According to eyewitness account, the kidnappers clad in camouflage and armed with sophisticated guns stormed the area in a Toyota Camry (Muzzle).

Okoya was said to have initially shown resistance when the fierce looking gunmen had tried to drag him into the waiting car, but was overpowered and whisked away.

“He put up resistance when the kidnappers wanted to push him into the car, but they used the butt of their guns to hit him severally before forcing him into their vehicle and drove away at neck breaking speed,” the source narrated.

The gunmen who reportedly drove across the road divide to get away from the scene, threatened to shoot any motorist that attempt to obstruct their movement.

National Pilot gathered that one of the aides of the hotelier had trailed the kidnappers to Ogbomoso, Oyo State before his car ran out of fuel.

It would be recalled that Okoye was abducted from his hotel situated along New Yidi road sometimes in 2012.
