A former commissioner in the state and a onetime former deputy speaker in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Suka Baba and former house of Assembly aspirant in Oke-Ero, Tunde Ashaolu are among the names of politicians from the southern and northern parts of the state that have made the list of the federal board appointees.

The list was recently rejigged by the leadership of the APC in the state to accommodate what a source described as political interests and exigencies”

Ashaolu, from Oke-Ero vied for the last by-election seat in Oke-Ero that eventually produced, Hon Victoria Bunmi Afolayan whose late husband, Hon Musa Afolayan had earlier occupied  the seat.

Other APC chieftain that had earlier been reported by National Pilot to be  included in the list are former Attorney-General and commissioner for Justice, Barrister Saka Isau (SAN).

Isau was dropped as a member of the Nigerian Electricity board by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan at the height of the political disagreement with Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki

Also  included are chairman of Kwara State Polyphonic Governing council board, Dr Saadu Ayinla Alanamu, former House of Representative member and Director-General Mandate Constituency (ABS) Office, Wahab Isa, former chairman of All Nigeria’s Peoples Party (ANPP), Taiye Eleja from Ajikobi ward and State Public Relations Officer of the APC, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari.

The announcement on their appointment is expected to be made by the President Muhammadu Buhari in few weeks after resuming office from his ten days vacation, a source  told National Pilot.

Recall that this medium had reported impending announcement of name for board appointments before the went for vacation penultimate week.

A top government source who is privy to the development had earlier told this medium that the presidency may announce the nominees “any moment from now” with members cutting across the states.

“’Their appointment will be announced any moment from now and it is not expected to affect their position in the party. Just like when Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje was appointed chairman of Railway Board, he was still serving in the PDP then as a national officer. The list was lately rejigged before the final submission.

“In this regards, some of those that were nominated for state board appointments and federal board appointment were reshuffled in line with the party’s aspiration’, the source had said.

There had been subtle agitation over appointments in the state chapter of the party as some of the members that had allegedly been nominated from the beginning of the years are yet to be announced.
