Three-time World 100m Champion, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce will not be defending her world title at the World Championships in London later this summer, after declaring that she’s expecting a baby.

Fraser-Pryce, who won the 100m titles in 2009, 2013 and 2015 made the declaration via her social media pages on Wednesday morning.

“All my focus heading into training for my 2017 season was on getting healthy and putting myself in the best possible fitness to successfully defend my title in London 2017. But life is filled with many blessings with God. So here I am thinking about being the greatest mother I can be with my biggest blessing and the promise God made me,” she said in her announcement on Facebook.

The Jamaican is the most decorated female athlete in the world having won laurels, including the Olympic 100m titles, which she won in 2008 and 2012. She also became the first woman in history to be crowned the World 100m Champion on three different occasions and also is a joint holder of Jamaica’s 100m record with 10.70s.
