Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed last week showed that he’s not an ‘armchair’ administrator, which he proved by abandoning comfort of his office and defied the scorching sun for on-the-spot inspection of ongoing developmental projects within the metropolis.

The governor who inspected projects at the Ilorin General Hospital, the multi billion naira Geri-Alimi Diamond Split Underpass and road constructions within the metropolis and beyond, gave contractors who have not worked to specification the marching order. Governor Ahmed also ordered the contractors to ensure best practices to ensure the durability of the projects, just as he assured them of adequate funding.

By this action, Governor Ahmed has shown that his passion for the infrastructural development of the state knows no bound. It reflects his commitment to providing basic amenities and critical infrastructure for development of the state.

The institution of the Infrastructure Development Fund (IFK), as a funding window for projects in the state, lends credence to the fact that he is burdened with the overall transformation of the state.

The facility tour of projects by the governor is no doubt an effort at making Kwarans across the state feel impact of good governance through well deserved quality projects. With this development, contractors will be kept on their toes and as such live up to expectation. Resultantly, the people of the state will get value for the money government invested in the projects. It is no longer business as usual.

The purposeful and responsive leadership as demonstrated by the state governor is gradually transforming the state.

There is no doubt that Kwarans will experience a new dawn and lease of life when all the projects are completed. Indeed, it is good here.!
