Panama international Amilcar Henriquez has been shot dead outside his home in city of Colon with two companions rushed to hospital after the tragic incident.
Police officials report the 33-year-old was killed near his home in the city of Colon on the morning of Saturday April 15. Two others, Josemar Pedro and Delano Wilson, are in hospital receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the gun attack.
Reports claim witnesses saw a red Nissan in the area before the attacker got out of his car and shot at Henriquez and his companions several times.
Meanwhile, Panama’s President Juan Carlos Varela took to Twitter to condemn the killing and vowed to do all he can to catch those responsible, while Panamanian FA tweeted condolences.
“We wholeheartedly condemn the murder of Amilcar Henriquez.
“We will put all our forces at Colon’s disposal to catch those responsible.” Varela tweeted.
The Panama Football Association ALSO tweeted it’s condolences. Their message read: “We deeply regret the death of our international star Amilcar Henriquez. May God protect your soul, Mickey?”
