The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof. Wale Oladipo, has said the party will come out of its present crisis much stronger to take over the governance of the country once again.

Oladipo said this in Osogbo at the weekend in an interview with journalists on the sidelines of the celebration of the 55th birthday anniversary of the immediate past chairman of the PDP in Osun State, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa.

The Ile Ife born politician who is in Ali Modu Sherif faction of the opposition party said the crisis rocking the PDP since its ouster from power would not stop it from dislodging the ruling All Progressives  Congress in the 2019 general election.

He said, “Our party will come out of the present crisis stronger, more united and will be poised to take over governance of this country once again. Our compatriots voted for change but you people can see now if they are enjoying the change.

“The crisis won’t last forever. The PDP has ruled the country for 16 years and we thought we would probably rule the country for a longer time.

“The PDP was not ready for the role of opposition it is playing now because we ruled for 16 years and the APC also was not prepared for governance because it has been in opposition since inception. That explains the crisis and the poor governance.”

Oladipo also predicted that the PDP would also wrest power from the ruling APC in Osun State, saying the people of the state had seen that it was better to pitch their tent with the PDP.

He hailed Olaoluwa for being a selfless leader and for working for the development of PDP in and out of office, saying he did his best to organise a transparent and credible congress which produced the present leadership of the party in Osun State.

Olaoluwa also said the opposition party would come out of the protracted crisis to dislodge the ruling party in Osun State.

He, however, said the party needed the support of all its members and the people of the state, saying leaders of the PDP had begun the moves to reunite the disgruntled members.

He expressed the hope that the reconciliation would start yielding positive results and the party would become a more united family before long.

He said the people of the state, who had seen that the APC government was full of deceits would not allow the ruling party to continue in office beyond 2018.

Olaoluwa said, ” The PDP will be one big party again and with the support of the people of the state, who are already waiting to change the present government, I am confident that we will take over the state in 2018.”
